Healing, Support, and Pathways
Forward for Women
Providing free, trauma-informed counselling, connection, and support to help women move from crisis toward stability and independence.
Free Counselling and Psychotherapy
Liberty Women’s Foundation provides free, trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy for women who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, addiction, or significant life adversity.
Our therapy spaces are grounded in safety, compassion, and respect. We understand that many women seeking support have had experiences where their boundaries were not honoured, their voices were not heard, or systems have felt overwhelming or unsafe. For this reason, our approach prioritises trust, choice, and collaboration at every step. Support is offered by qualified, trauma-informed practitioners and is tailored to each woman’s individual needs, goals, and pace.
Therapy may support women to:
- Process and make sense of traumatic experiences
- Develop emotional regulation and nervous-system safety
- Reduce distress, overwhelm, and isolation
- Strengthen self-worth, identity, and confidence
- Rebuild trust in relationships and in themselves
We recognise that healing is not linear, and there is no “right way” to recover. Women are never rushed or pressured to disclose more than they feel ready to share. Instead, therapy unfolds in a way that feels supportive, empowering, and responsive to where each woman is in her journey.
Our counselling and psychotherapy services are offered at no cost to eligible women, reducing financial barriers and ensuring access to care during times of vulnerability. We work alongside community partners to support continuity of care and ensure women receive holistic, coordinated support.

"Rebuilding life after trauma often involves reclaiming a sense of purpose, possibility, and self-belief."
Support is provided on a case-by-case basis and aligned with each woman’s individual goals, circumstances, and readiness. We recognise that rebuilding life after trauma often involves reclaiming a sense of purpose, possibility, self-belief and access to education can be a vital part of that process.
Our approach is practical, empowering, and grounded in trust. We work alongside each woman to ensure support is purposeful, respectful, and contributes to long-term stability and independence.
