Our Approach

Our Service Delivery Framework:

Trauma-Informed, Safe, and Relational

Liberty Women’s Foundation delivers services that are culturally safe, accessible, inclusive, and grounded in trauma-informed care. We recognise the profound impact of trauma, domestic violence, and adversity on the nervous system, identity, and relationships, and we prioritise safety, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in every interaction.
Our practitioners and facilitators are trained in trauma-informed and violence-informed practice and work from a compassionate, relational lens. We collaborate closely with community partners and local organisations to ensure our services are responsive, respectful, and aligned with the needs of the women we support.

Person-Centred and Individualised Support

We recognise that every woman’s healing journey is unique. Our services are not one-size-fits-all, and we do not rush or prescribe a single pathway to recovery.
Support is tailored to each woman’s goals, strengths, and circumstances, honouring her autonomy and lived experience. Our person-centred approach ensures women are met where they are, supported at their own pace, and empowered to make choices that feel right for them.

Lived-Experience Informed Practice

Lived experience sits at the heart of Liberty Women’s Foundation. Many of the people involved in shaping, governing, and delivering our work bring firsthand understanding of trauma, recovery, and resilience.
This perspective informs how we design services, communicate, and show up for the women we support. It ensures our work remains grounded, relevant, and deeply respectful of the realities faced by women navigating healing after trauma and violence

Evidence-Based and Continually Evolving

Our work is informed by contemporary research, best-practice trauma frameworks, and emerging evidence in mental health and recovery-oriented care. We are committed to reflective practice, ongoing learning, and continuous improvement.
As the foundation grows, we will continue to develop clear program logic and outcome measures to evaluate impact across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons. This ensures our services remain effective, accountable, and aligned with our mission to create meaningful, sustainable change in women’s lives.

Collaboration and Community Connection

We believe healing is strengthened through connection. Liberty Women’s Foundation works in partnership with community organisations, crisis services, and support networks to ensure continuity of care and strong referral pathways. By collaborating rather than working in isolation, we aim to create a more connected, compassionate system of support around each woman, one that honours her dignity and supports long-term stability, safety, and independence.
